Screencaps of John Smith's Journal from the utterly sublime Human Nature.
I only wish they were bigger because that journal is a work of art. Kudos to Kellyanne Walker who created it. According to Freema on the commentary for Human Nature, the entire journal is filled with sketches and writing. I hope the BBC find it in their hearts to release their own version of "A Journal of Impossible Things" because it is a thing of beauty!
I got these by going through that scene by watching in slo-mo on the slowest mo I could find... and it still took me about 10 goes to try and get the last turn of the page!
Update! Managed to get a screencap of the Flash animation for Family of Blood of the Ten Doctors!

Some of them aren't the best and I found myself wishing Joan would get her hand out of the way on some of them. We can only hope the BBC authorises an official version.
Comments are love. Copying is fine, but please credit. This was hard work! Not as hard as Ms Walker who drew it, but ya know! :D

Comments
I'm off to ask the BEEB for my own copy... (In a nice, polite, non-fangirl way of course!)
I definitely agree that it would be lovely if the BBC made this journal available online. I think with enough comments, mentioned by principia_coh, the BBC would be willing to give us some sort copy. ^_^ I hope!
Will be adding this post to my memories!
Am I the only one who noticed that in the sixth picture, there appear to be a couple of pages torn out? The edges of those bits in the middle look like they were torn. Or is that just something to do with the binding and I'm jumping to fangirly conclusions?
=(
Once you spend a few minutes staring at the letters, they finally become words. Once you can read a bit of it, you can read most of the rest provided it's not on the curvy bit of the page.. Which is irritating. Oh!, but how I would love a copy of this to read and page through. I must echo the kudos and brownie points for the unnamed artist who created it. They did a fantastic job, whomever they are.
And the lines about Rose were marvellous. Very nice the way they had him having written that down with such feeling, but totally dismissing her while speaking with Jane. That hurt a bit, didn't it?
However wonderful those lines were though, I think what I love even more - I know, blasphemy! - is the page with the clockwork robots, and how the first words on there are 'Beautiful monsters'. That made me laugh. I love how even as John Smith, he finds the clockwork robots beautiful. Plus, the parapgraphs following, about losing someone again and setting something on fire were very nice.
And - one more thing, I'm nearly finished, honest - is that latin on the page with the TARDIS, or am I not able to read it correctly? Not the first pages, the one with the wee little TARDIS, where he's talking about his 'magic box' and how nothing can harm him there. Unless he gets lost inside. Which I would dearly love to see happen. That could be great crack!fic.
And sorry for the length. T'was such a good episode, and this little prop got me very excited and happy. Like peeking into the mind of the not-Doctor. Very fun.
I hope that they do make an official version!
It is a bit sad reading about Mdme du Pompadour and Rose, and his feeling that he lost someone... and about him having dogs! :)
Love the page with some of his former faces...
All in all, So Very Good!!!
Thanks again!!
Much love
